ABOUT

Hi, I’m Annora, a registered massage therapist and owner of East Edmonton Massage Therapy. I graduated from Grant MacEwan University in 2012 and have been a practicing massage therapist for 13 years.

When I was three years old, I was in a car accident. The way I comprehend what I hear and see was forever impacted, but my sense of touch went unaffected. I best understand the world with my hands and have always had an interest in helping people heal from their physical trauma. Due to having a learning disability, I was given the message that my career choices were limited. I have always connected best through physical contact and could naturally feel the muscle knots and their release in the backs of my family. This inspired me to use this natural ability to bring relief to more people, and by the age of fifteen, I knew that massage therapy was the career I wanted to pursue.

I have experience treating patients who have been in car accidents or have twisted their ankles, knees, hips, or spine.  Physical pain, weakness, numbness, instability, and circulation issues mainly stem from four major sources. These are the way you stand, sit, walk, and the position you sleep in. Therefore, I have made it my mission to observe how you perform these four positions, relieve tension in your muscles, joints, and ligaments that contribute to them, and teach you the proper postures to prevent further misery.  I can help alleviate your symptoms if you experience nerve pain, poor posture, or persistent stiffness and aching in your back, hips, knees, or feet.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening and music. I sing in a choir, play trombone and guitar, and maintain a vegetable, herb, and flower garden in my backyard. This year, I'm growing herbs to help reduce swelling, stiffness, and pain in the muscles, nerves, and skin.

I also have a herbology and aromatherapy diploma, which I have put to good use by making my own herbal massage oils and blends. These enhance your massage by decreasing your swelling, muscle and nerve pain, and joint inflammation. They also help with your breathing and boost your immune system.

*At this time, I am not accessible to those who cannot transverse stairs. Contact me if you have this challenge, and I will see what kind of accommodations I can make.
